VIC: Victoria to extend guns amnesty
MELBOURNE, Feb 26 AAP - The firearms amnesty in Victoria will continue for a further two
years until February 2001, the state government said today.
The amnesty was due to end today, but Police Minister Bill McGrath said it was being
extended "because of the positive response to date from Victorian firearms owners".
"The current Victorian firearms amnesty has been a major success," Mr McGrath said in a
statement.
